OUR BULK TEMPLATE AND APIs
The bulk Template is our simplest form of API and one which many of our clients use to copy data into before sending to us. However, we are adding additional convenient methods of capturing and delivering data to UBL from Partner sites.
Template Download: Download the template here and open it in your favorite spreadsheet application. Please note that there are important instructions about formats and codes on page 2 of the template. We can provide you with a list of Categories, but UBL is working with the Government standard NAICS codes.
Local Capture
The first of the additional APIs is the Local Capture method.
UBL provides a PHP form that can be placed on your website or intranet. It has all the correct fields properly formatted, plus the drop-down menus for the Categories. We also include links to our keyword conversion tool. This tools allows you to use common business terms to search for the matching NAICS code that will help your listings be accepted and found on search engines. This can be easily adapted to change the branding and style, or to reduce the amount of capture fields that relate to your clients.
We also provide the server side scripts to capture the data on your own server. It fits the freely-available MySQL database and includes CSS files and instructions.
This API can be implemented with a basic level of PHP Web programming skills. We are always happy to take requests for changes and improvements. Coming soon will be a Remote Capture API that allows for the form to be self hosted while the data gets captured by account into the UBL database. This will include remote viewing of the data and progress reports.
